Died: October 15, 1958 Glendale, CA
Hamilton played on the New York stage for twenty five years before going to Hollywood in 1936 at the request of Warner Bros. He became typecast throughout his career as prison wardens, senators, generals and judges. During his career he made over three hundred film and television appearances, best known in television's "Superman," he also played in several "Superman" movies. Hamilton died from a heart condition.

Further to the info on John Hamilton 's role on the popular Superman TV Series, he played the part of the crusty editor, Perry White of "The Daily Planet" Newspaper, and made the following line famous forever:"Great Caesar's Ghost"!
