Biography CLOSE THE FULL BIOGRAPHY

Young actress Emily Rios has built a solid career in a short time, after a chance encounter. She grew up on the mean streets of El Monte, California, living next to hardcore gang bangers. She had a lucky break when a talent scout spotted her at a local shopping mall and gave Rios her card, inviting her to an open audition. Rios landed an agent and a manager from the audition, and her career was on the go. In 2005, she appeared in her first role, in the short "For Them." The next year, she nabbed a starring role--chosen from 200 hopefuls--in the drama "QuinceaƱera," playing a 14-year-old who discovers she's pregnant. The next year, she kept the momentum going by appearing in another short, "The Stain on the Sidewalk," her second feature, "The Blue Hour," as well as making her TV debut in the medical series "ER." Some other television programs she has appeared on include the medical drama "House" in 2008; crime series "The Closer" also in 2008; and dramedy "Men of a Certain Age," where she had her first recurring role for 12 episodes until 2011, when the series was cancelled.
