The daughter of a ship's captain becomes a sea-going cupid.
2.
Betty Co-ed (1946) as Peggy Wilson
A fore-runner and a semi- slight version of "Take Care of My Little Girl" from Sam Katzman, but pert-and-pretty Jean Porter had a knack for making Katzman's pictures look better than they were. Here, she (as Joanne Leeds), interrupts her carnival singing career to enroll as a freshman at Upton College. She quickly encounters the snobbery of the sorority girls because of her background. But the sorority is reorganized on democratic principles and she is invited to join, although it is never made too clear why she would want to join this group of airheads anyway.
3.
Thrill of a Romance (1945) as Giggling girl
A soldier returning from World War II finds love with a lady swimmer.
4.
Mom and Dad (1945) as Mary Lou [Gardner]
Because a high school girl's parents refuse to discuss sex education (called "personal hygiene" in the film) with her, she gets pregnant by her boyfriend, who conveniently dies. Her parents are blamed, and the local sex education teacher uses this opportunity to show a film showing the dangers (and results) of VD and the birth of a baby.
