MALTIN REVIEW:
D: Clarence Brown. Spencer Tracy, Gene Tierney, Van Johnson, Leo Genn, Dawn Addams, Lloyd Bridges, Barry Jones. Superficial soap opera, glossily done, of the cynical captain of the Mayflower (Tracy) and the settlers who sailed from England to New England in the 17th century. This won an Oscar for its special effects.
