Hollywood Heritage Museum Screens A CALL FROM THE STARS on Feb. 18

Marsha Hunt produced A Call from the Stars, a one hour television documentary that raised money and awareness for the U.S. Committee for Refugees. Marsha enlisted 14 of her celebrity friends to participate in the special. Among the stars involved in the project include: Paul Newman, Bing Crosby, Joanne Woodward, David Niven, Harry Belafonte and Jean Simmons. The special aired on February 10, 1960 in commemoration of the United Nations, "Year of the Refugee." A Call from the Stars has not been seen since 1960. * Marsha Hunt is scheduled to speak at the event, sharing her memories at this 50th anniversary screening of the film.

This evening is a fundraiser to assist filmmakers in the completion of their feature documentary Marsha Hunt: Sweet Adversity. Selected clips from this film will be shown.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Raffle tickets will be sold for an autographed copy of Marsha's hard to find coffee table book: "The Way We Wore: Styles of the 1930 and 40's And Our World Since Then". For more information, Click Here.

2010 marks Marsha Hunt's 75th anniversary as an actress (she just did a "film noir" short in 2008) - you can watch the film here.

Here is also a "link" to where people can donate to this project and an extensive resume of Marsha's life career achievements as well as awards she received for her activist/humanitarian work at Hollywood and Art.
