Marsha Hunt produced A Call from the Stars, a one hour television documentary that raised money and
awareness for the U.S. Committee for Refugees. Marsha enlisted 14 of her celebrity friends to
participate in the special. Among the stars involved in the project include: Paul Newman, Bing
Crosby, Joanne Woodward, David Niven, Harry Belafonte and Jean Simmons. The special aired on February
10, 1960 in commemoration of the United Nations, "Year of the Refugee." A Call from the Stars has not been seen since 1960. * Marsha Hunt is scheduled to speak at the event, sharing her memories at this 50th anniversary screening of the film.
This evening is a fundraiser to assist filmmakers in the completion of their feature documentary
Marsha Hunt: Sweet Adversity. Selected clips from this film will be shown.
Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Raffle tickets will be sold for an autographed copy of Marsha's hard to find coffee table book: "The
