The 1960s were as much a watershed in cinema as they were in
the wider world. This was the decade during which censorship
codes were demolished and the studio contract system fell
apart. It was also a time when many filmmakers abandoned
glossy studio product in favor of movies with a less
conventional style. This is especially true of the late 1960s;
some of the most daring, colorful, outrageous, and enduring of
all motion pictures were released between 1965 and 1969.
Everybody's Talkin': The Top Films of 1965-1969

as movie ads, tie-in book covers, soundtrack albums, and sheet
music.
