"Past Catches Up" from Anna Lucasta
1958. Sammy Davis Jr. as Danny Johnson surprises a newly married Eartha Kitt as Anna Lucasta, who cannot believe she has fallen in love with a farmer for real, and who tries to get her to come back to him, but she refuses, even as he tells her the truth about her. Finally, Danny decides to go and leave her be when Rex Ingram as Joe Lucasta comes and recognizes Danny, then tells Anna that he fixed it so her new husband does not get the new job he came up for, and that all she deserves is unhappiness, even on her wedding day. Danny then takes the distraught Anna away, and Joe destroys her wedding cake.

She goes to the window and signals them to quiet down, and then tells them to come up. Blade starts closing the place down when Nat King Cole as W. C. Handy, Teddy Buckner as Musician, Barney Bigard as Musician, George "Red" Callendar as Musician, and Lee Young as Musician come up and Gogo greets them and tells them to perform a set in low bass.
